Last week, members of our team travelled to Toronto to attend the BPSO Symposium, where we joined BPSO organizations to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge in support of integrated, evidence-based care. The symposium provided an opportunity to highlight innovative practices, showcase impact, and learn from the experiences and successes of fellow BPSO teams.
HDGH was invited to showcase the outstanding work of our teams through a poster presentation highlighting the success of our Naloxone Distribution Program, launched in early 2026. Since implementation, over 400 HDGH team members have completed Naloxone Distributor training; 29 departments are actively participating in the program, and over 300 naloxone kits have been distributed. The presentation highlighted HDGH's proactive approach to harm reduction and the implementation of a comprehensive naloxone distribution strategy. By making naloxone kits readily accessible across inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as community locations, we have expanded access to this life-saving intervention while creating additional opportunities for health education, harm reduction awareness, and strengthened community partnerships.

Through this partnership with Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, we’re strengthening our commitment to evidence-based practice—using the latest research and best practices to improve outcomes, experiences, and care for our patients and community.
This important work is made possible thanks to the incredible support of the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation, with a generous $22,000 investment, and an additional $5,000 contribution from RBC and the RBC Foundation. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to advancing care at HDGH.
